Many of our students walk to school. If your child does, please ensure they do so responsibly, use school crossing patrols where they are available and ensure that they wear some clearly-seen colour on darker mornings and evenings. It is important that they behave at all times with consideration for other pedestrians and road users. Always be aware that the roads around The Costello School are busy, especially at the start and end of the school day.

If you live further away from the School your child is likely to travel on public transport. We have to rely on students to behave properly as there is no staff supervision. Please remind your child that both they and The Costello School will be judged on their conduct.

Students can cycle to school if they have applied for and completed a cycle permit. We would like them to take or have taken their Cycling Proficiency Test, advise them to padlock their bike and remove from it items such as lights, pumps, etc. and encourage them to wear a safety helmet.
We urge you to use Eastrop Lane or the car park at the end of Crossborough Hill to drop off your children or collect them at the start and end of the school day. Your child and other students are put at risk by people parking on the road outside of the School. Children have to cross the road between parked cars. Parking in the staff car park and Crossborough Hill is prohibited.
Please help us to get them in and out of school safely and make their journeys as safe as possible.
