Work with us and you will undertake a fantastic induction programme and get personalised support including being assigned a mentor, no matter what your role, even the headteacher has one! We encourage professional and personal development within the school as we realise that for some people this is what really matters to them. We hate losing great people but equally encourage staff to shoot for the stars and if that means you moving on somewhere else, after a period of time, then we get it and we will help you. We are recognised for our Professional Development programme and have received the highest possible rating for our support for new entrants to the profession. Applying for a job with us
Prior to applying why not come and have a look around? We are always happy to give you a tour, let you get a feel for the place and meet potential future colleagues and students. We have a standard application form to complete which outlines your personal details as well as your academic and teaching experience. There is also an opportunity for you to tell us more about yourself and why you would like to work at Costello as well as why you think you are the best candidate for the job. We tend to shortlist for jobs however we have no set rule on how many candidates we bring forward for interview. Please do not be put off applying for a role just because you don’t think you have got everything we are looking for or are underqualified. Let us be the judge of whether you are suitable or not. Remember if you don’t apply you have no chance of getting the job so why not take a chance? If shortlisted for a main scale teaching role, two of our students will take you on a tour of the school on the day itself, we will watch you teach and also conduct a short interview. If the role is for a middle leadership position you will also most likely be asked to undertake an in-tray exercise and meet a student panel. If the role is at senior/strategic level then in addition you may have more than one interview and the process may last more than 1 day. We have all been interviewed at some point and know how stressful and tiring the process is. If there is anything you need to know prior to or during the process please just ask. It won’t count against you at any point and remember the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask!
